Last week the new Peugeot 208 was presented at Cinelandia in Rio de Janeiro with a stunning 4D Mapping that drove the audience right inside the Motion & Emotion Show. It was with a mixture of new technology and physical elements that the gig grew to an almost monumental scale where Director Matt Nee from Rokkit (UK) together with BD Agency and Ocean Films Brazil made it possible for the crowd to enjoy the amazing effects.

To add to the already exciting experience of going to a music concert, being backstage is just like a teenage dream.
The Katy Perry California Dreams Tour that started off in Portugal, ended this month in South America where Ocean Films had the privilege of shooting the backstage in Rio, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires with the fun Pulse Films crew in charge of documenting the moments before and after the gig. From “I kissed a Girl”, “Hot n Cold” and “Waking Up in Vegas”, to “California Girls” and “E.T.”, last Friday 23rd, Sunday 25th and Tuesday 27th nights we danced on tabletops to the music of a great firework! Yes, we could do it all again.

This admirable project from the Adventist Media Network picked Brazil and more specifically Rio de Janeiro, with its iconic Christ, the silent rivers of the Amazon surrounded by the opulent vegetation, and its deforested jungle to show how the world’s consumption has affected the environment and its natural resources. Yet, it was not about complaining, it went Beyond. Minister John Murison as the presenter, and Director Kyle Portbury with Director of Photography Gordon Brown, from A Frame Production, were in charge of capturing with their camera the deforestation as well as the intense colours of unique plants and birds in the exotic Amazon to depict the transition of men and the obtention of resources for food in the globalized world we live in.

While the Coke Truck made its way around Rio delivering happiness, there was a Happy Store down some nearby street where more unpredictable things were about to happen. Shoppers came into the convenience store, some hesitant as to what to buy, others clearly thirsty for a Coke. Many wound up walking towards the fridge, where as soon as they opened it the colourful mapping turned the whole place into a lively store that sometimes even looked like disco. No matter what time of the day or night it was, the Happy Store was open 24/7 surprising everybody who grabbed a Coke. Shoppers had a good time being surprised. Definition 6, Creative Bubble and Ocean Films too, and the convenience store undoubtedly became a happier place!

Coca Cola Viral -Truck – Happiness – shot in Rio de Janeiro

After the Happiness Machine campaign, that took place in a university in the States, came Coke Truck & Store. Coke Truck was shot during 3 days in different neighbourhoods in Rio de Janeiro. The big and bright red truck drove around the streets and made many stops where intrigued passers-by approached the bait, pushed the button and were surprised with Coke bottles and other curious gifts that came out from the back part of the vehicle. The agency Definition 6 came up with this unusual idea, and was soon put into practice by Creative Bubble and Ocean Films, without any actors or extras. Director Paul Iannacchino, DOP Sean Donnelly and 5 cameras inside and outside the truck documented the amazement in people’s faces during these fun moments that would have otherwise been a simple routine walk down the street. And the Truck was not all…

Brahma still shoot was actually part of the Improvise campaign. And our Playground division was in charge of the kaleidoscopic photos that, like the spot, depict the lively carioca summer atmosphere and the Brazilian creativity, giving the stills a joyful feel to it that the New York agency MCGarrybowen was looking for. Photo shoot in Uyuni – Bolivia

The Uyuni Salt Flat, Bolivia, the largest one in the world, was the setting for the surreal Uniqlo photo shoot, included in the Silkydry & Sarafine Campaign. Clear skies and a bright salt crust at an altitude of 3600 meters (almost 12.000 feet) above the sea level was a an elevated experience, no doubt!

Driving 12 hours in 4X4s from La Paz to Uyuni turned the experience for the whole crew into an adventure with a dreamlike destination easy to appreciatte in the pictures, where, incredibly enough, no photoshop was used. Yes, the mirror is real, and it looks like a carefully crafted lucid dream thanks to the rainfall period in December and January. Dentsu Inc and photographer Malik Sayeed were responsible for these beautiful pictures.
